With 2 more weeks until En101 becomes 3 years old, we just wanted to say - "What an exhilarating and impelling run this has been!"
There is so much excitement and movement building up for the 2008 year that we just wanted to recap some of the things that have made us from what we were to what we are today.
When this company started out on February 14th, 2005 it was not even complete yet. It had only 12 weeks of ongoing English education, 1 week of ongoing Spanish education, a simple homepage, a small presentation of the product and opportunity, and the website was only translated into a few languages.
The sole purpose of En101 was simple - To teach English to the Entire planet over the internet to better our communication skills and create a movement that would set forth a positive change in the world. Not only that, but to give our members a chance to earn extra income for their efforts in the pursuit towards this goal.
Although the company was small in stature, the idea was enormous and beyond belief.
Thus, the company expanded very quickly!
Everyone wanted in on this “new revolution” while it was still young. Breaking records for sales in the first months, En101 started taking on large amounts of enrollments. This meant expansion of not only the product, but also the employee base.
With so many new people coming from all over the world and so many wonderful ideas from our members and our developers, within weeks En101 started to take shape. New lessons started getting interactive, En101 Kids was born and the business aspect was really starting to take on a whole new concept.
Members were signing up from new countries week by week. Translators were lining up to translate the website left and right. The education was progressing so fast that new developers needed to be hired to take on the challenges.
Suddenly, this very small online company with a dream was not so small anymore.
Before too long, En101 was in 125 countries, 20 languages, and in more than 50,000 homes across the world.
Although our main goal was to teach English to the world, the demand for something more loomed overhead. En101 decided then, that it needed to become more than what it was. It needed to teach MORE languages.
Once En101 began adding new languages to the product one by one, it started realizing its new goal even more - "Teach the world English, and give the people a chance to learn more languages from the same product if they choose. Then add even more types of education." - That would definitely give the members more than they paid for.
En101 went to work on this new found idea, and since then has surpassed all other companies in its class.
Now teaching English, Spanish, Russian, French, Latvian, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, not to mention Business English, College English, basic computer skills, and basic Internet skills, En101 has become the online education company that it was destined to be… and has not stopped there.
En101 will continue to enhance the product day by day, week by week, and year by year. It is and will continue to be a never-ending cycle of development.
So, in the last 3 years, through the ups and downs of any business, En101 has evolved into something that CEO Richard McCullough could never have imagined possible - a true online educational company of global proportions.
En101 now proudly boasts that it is in 195 countries, 26 languages, over 100,000 homes word-wide and is also being implemented into schools and non-profit organizations all over the world. Its concept is unmatched in the industry and delivers a product that is virtual, professional, instant, and can be used from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.
It really goes to show that one great idea can really exceed expectations, and that anyone with a dream can become what they want, even if they have only a little potential.
En101 is here for the long run and will continue to make changes in people’s lives for years to come.
